Picking up Mulberry Seeds to Suppost(Support?) His Mother
Tsai Shun, a father less boy at his early
age, of the Han dynasty served his mother very
faithfully. He met with the rebellion of Wang
Mang. During the scanty year picked up
mulberry seeds to be filled with two different
vessels, one for the black and the other for the
red.
In reply to the enquiry about the vessels arise
by the Red Brow insurgents, who happened to
see them, Shun srid(said?), "The black seeds are to
feed my mother; while the red for self-use"
Thus moved by his filial piety, therebel
chief gave him twenty pints of white rice and
one piece of cow's leg.
拾椹供親「椹（桑の実）を拾ひ 親（しん）に供(す)」
漢の蔡順 若くして孤（こ）なり。母に事（つか）へて至孝なり
王莽（おうもう）が乱に遭ひ 歳 荒して 給せず
桑椹を拾ふに 異器を以て之を盛る。赤眉の賊見て之を問ふ
順が曰く 黒き者は母に奉り 赤き者は自ら食らふと
賊その孝を憫れみ 白米二斗 牛蹄一隻を之に與ふ
