董永。彫刻や挿絵ではお別れのシーンが多い二人ですが、これは出会いのシーンでしょうか。いきなり美女にプロポーズされ、借金返済も手伝ってもらえるなんて。人生最高の瞬間ね。すぐ終わっちゃったけどね。

To Sell Oneself for Father's Funeral Kxpenses(Expenses?)
Tung Yung of the Hon dynasty, with a poor
family, sold himself for a certain amount of
loaned wages to get his father buried ofthe the
latler's deach？？？）. While proceeding to work for
the loan, he came across on the way a woman,
who sought to be his wife. They both , theretore(therefore?),
went to he money-lender's where she was
ordered to weave three hundred pieces of
double-thread silk to redeem the loan before her
husband was permitted to go back. After the
completion of the weaving in one month, the
couple loft there and returned to their former
meeting-place, the shady portion of the sophora
japonica. Then the fairy woman bade him
farewell and ascended to heoven(heaven?).

漢の代の董永は貧しき中にて父死しければ 身を売りて身のしろの銭にて 棺槨を買ひ 父の葬をなし それより主人のもとへ行 償工と人夫てまの役を償ひにゆかんとする道にて 一人の女にあひたり この女董永が妻とならんといひしゆへ つれだちて主人の家にゆきしに 主人のいへるは 絹三百疋を織りたらんとき 汝らを家に帰すべしといへり この女一月ばかりのうちに三百疋の絹を織りければ 主人暇をくれたり 夫婦もとあひたる槐（えんじゅ）の木のもとに来たりければ かの女いとま乞して曰 我は天帝の織姫なり 天帝そこの孝を感じ 我に命じて君の負ひ目を償はしめ給へりといひて 天にのぼり去りしとなり
