Feeding Her Mother-in-law with Milk Without Showing Any Fatinue(Fatigue?)
Tseui San Nan of the T'ang dynasty was the
great grandson to Madame Chang Sun who was
aged dnd(and?) toothless and grand on to Madame
T'ang who appeared at the hall every morning
right after the toilet to feed her mother-in-lau(law?)
with her own milk. The mother-in lam(-law?) had
never taken any rice, but turned strong and
healthy in this way.
One day however. Madame Chang Sun took
ill. around whom old and young of the family
gathered together and said before them. "Nou(Now?)
I have nothing to repay the favour of my
daughter-inlaw but wish that every son, grand-
son and daughter-inslaw bo as dutiful and
pious as Madame T'ang, amen"

dutiful・・・忠実な、誠実な
pious・・・孝行忠実
乳姑不怠「姑に乳して怠らず」
唐の時崔山南といへる人の曾祖母・長孫夫人といへるは 年たけて歯なかりしとなり 崔山南が祖母の唐夫人は長孫夫人のためにはよめなり この唐夫人朝ごとに髪ゆひ面を洗て長孫夫人の居間に入 しうとめ長孫婦人に乳を飲ませしとなり（初頴日記故事より）
お義母さんは、お米を一度も食べたことがないのに、こうして丈夫になりました。
ところがある日 長孫夫人が病に倒れ、その周りに一族の老若男女が集まり、彼らの前でこう言ったのです。
今、私は嫁の恩に報いることはできませんが、すべての息子、孫、嫁が、唐夫人のように従順で敬虔であることを願います。

唐夫人と崔山南は夫婦かと思っていたら、「崔山南が祖母の唐夫人」と書いてあり混乱します。
